Chairperson & Treasurer:
Michele (Shelley) Tamas
Nearly fifteen years ago, the Holy Spirit directed Shelley’s energy to Our Lady of the Rosary Shrine. Recognizing its need for assistance, she answered the call to be of service and offered her time, talent, and treasure to the operation of Our Lady’s home to ensure its sustainability.
Shelley loves the Lord and our Blessed Mother and her desire in life is to please them. The other loves of her life are her husband John, her children Helecia (Aaron) and John (Carmen), and her nine beautiful grandchildren. She is also a Life member of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada, a member of the Welland/Port Colborne Pro-Life Association, and a member of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition. Her dedicated leadership and personal living of the Golden Rule have been a blessing to all of the Friends of the Shrine.

Property manager:
John Tamas
John will tell you that it was never his intention to become so involved at the Shrine, as he was also very active in the Knights of Columbus, and busy being “Pa” to his nine grandchildren… But as is often the case, the good Lord and Our Lady call on those who least expect it! John met the need when it arose, and his involvement at Our Lady of the Rosary Shrine soon became an important part of his life.
John continues to improve the Shrine property with the help of dedicated volunteers. He invites anyone who like to give of their time, talent, and treasure to join them, as many hands make light work. Thanks to his humble, behind-the-scenes labours of love, Our Lady’s humble home improves in appearance every year, to the benefit of all who visit.

Our chaplain:
Fr. Paul McDonald
Fr. Paul McDonald is a priest of our Diocese and the Vice-Rector of the Cathedral. Ordained in 1988, from the beginning, he has offered Holy Mass and preached at the Shrine. Sometimes during the active season, he has been offering doctrinal formation in monthly talks on Thursday evenings, before the Rosary. We, at the Shrine, are so grateful for his example of devotion and excellent teachings, which open our minds and our hearts to the saving truths of the Catholic Faith.

Spiritual Formation Lead:
Adelaine Nohara
Adelaine began volunteering at the Shrine in 2023 and is happy to now be serving as the Shrine’s Spiritual Formation Lead. Her Catholic Faith is her passion, and nothing brings her more joy than announcing the Gospel! Having first discovered the love of Jesus while praying the rosary as a child, she loves to lead others into relationship with Jesus through the Heart of His Mother. Adelaine is a candidate for the vocation of consecrated virginity in the world for the Diocese of Saint Catharines.
